Krabi, one of my highly anticipated trips in Thailand, planned about a year back bring my beach trip memory since my last East Coast beach vacation.
Sweet-Sweet Krabi @ Krabi – An Adventure Holiday
A 5D4N trip to southern Thailand’s province with white sandy beaches and offshore islands for exploration, national park and mangrove forests. Giving this new place a try is a must if you’re adventures + nature person.
It was a BUDGET TRIP because of low season and cheap package offered. I booked AirAsia flight during promotion period. I bought hotel packages 4D3N at Krabi Resort for 2 pax for RM399. Cheap huh?
I booked airport transfer (4 pax sharing) to Ao Nang beach (Krabi Resort) for 750 baht. Return was 500 baht. Ala-carte package for Free N Easy trip. Believe it?
One of the most popular islands, Phi-Phi Island was our Day 2 plan. The islands feature beaches and clear water that have had their natural beauty. Nowadays, the place has turned into one of the major destinations for visitors in Krabi. However, things get overturned!
Sea Kayaking in Ao Thalane @ Krabi – A Truly Wet Day
However, our dream came to halt when the storm hit the ocean as early as we departed from the jetty, on half-way journey.
Tension! There’s gone my Maya beach dream!
Our Day 3 plan was Full Day Jungle Tour. Not enough for water activities, we decided to sail through the jungle for more, the Hot Spring Fall & Emerald Pool. Continue with temple visit at Tiger Cave.
Jungle Tour @ Krabi (Day 3) – Nature Exploration
The selling point offer to us for the package was the following:
- Visit Emerald Pool, swimming and relaxing in the nature bath
- Visit Hot Spring Waterfall, enjoy & relaxing in the hot water (35-40 C)
- Visit Tiger Cave temple, the most famous temple in Krabi Province
Our much awaiting island tour finally here. We secured a day trip to James Bond Island with Canoeing after the previous day’s excursion of Jungle Tour.
Sweet2Krabi @ Krabi (Day 4) – Island Tour
James Bond Island is a famous landmark in Phang Nga Bay. Its famous landmark was through the starring role of James Bond movie, The Man with the Golden Gun.
Our tour cost 900 baht (~RM80) per person. The itinerary was as following:
- Longtail boat to James Bond Island & Khao Ping Gan
- Canoeing trip at Lot Cave
- Lunch @ Koh Panyee (Muslim Floating Village)
- Visit Suwankhuha Temple (Monkey Cave)
- Swimming at waterfall
The humidity level was same as a day before, a wet day. Hope things would turn out good for us. At least we have one island tour else the entire trip would be in great disappointment.
A day with compiling all memories of previous days and together brings back to our beloved country land, Malaysia. We did our finale shopping at Ao Nang before calling a taxi to transfer us to airport.
Sweet2Krabi @ Krabi (Day 5) – Finale
Remaining time spent in Krabi was precious to us. Woke up early, spending quality time enjoying the morning air outside. We even had our breakfast nearby.
After breakfast, we quickly walk down to Ao Nang’s shopping paradise street to have our finale shopping on souvenir. Bargaining a lot for some items we wanted so much until the owner gave up on us.
We love Krabi at the moment we thought about ending our trip.
In fact, a lot more of tour packages we have yet to cover and much more activities can be done here. Activities suggested vary for 3D2N & 5D4N, which even greater with 8D7N. For those backpacking for a whole month, I really respect them.
