An unexpected 17 pax group turn up to hike cooling and mossy mountain located at the Gap, the foot hill of Fraser Hill. All were first timer to this mountain.
29 June 2014 | Gunung GAP & Ulu Semangkok
I was expected a 3 hours hike has turned almost into half which was 2 hours from base to Gap peak and Ulu Semangkok peak. Our group were a fit and steady, leaving no one behind to complete first peak (Gap) less than an hour time. Another hour plus to second peak (Ulu Semangkok).
The supportive elements that moved our group so fast was a dry season and trails were better grip. No one encountered any leech.
Never underestimate hill & mountain by its name. Bukit Chenuang, a hill by name, as tough as typical mountain. Located in the area around Gunung Nuang and accessible via trail through Congkak Recreational Park.

‘Nuang’ is a name that many hikers terrified when heard about it. However, Bukit Chenuang should not be taken lightly as well. The jungle area is closely related to Gunung Nuang. Due to this, I decided to follow KL Hiking community to Bukit Chenuang when they planned for it. A small fee of RM1 for entrance and RM3 for carpark is compulsory.
The group started hike from Camp Zone 6. The rest of the hike was not easy Trail after the river crossing was tough, with very steep steps which spoil with fallen bamboos/rattan and thorny plant.
It took me total 2 hr 15 min to reach the peak. Descending took me 1 hr 50 min. Therefore, completed this only 4 hours, but for me I felt like 6 hours. Perhaps too long absent from hiking made the situation not favorable to me.
To complete Bukit Saga hiking series, one must done for all the routes (A, B, C & D). Normally, many call it as completed via Route A (famous route). The rest are much tougher and challenging, but I determined to complete Route C this time.
Saga Hill (Bukit Saga) – Route C
It doesn’t take long to complete all routes, not even weekly or monthly but could be as short as 1 day. It depends on your stamina, but doing it weekly is recommended. All routes end-point will be at SAGA Hill peak.
Route C is accessible along the way of Route A, where the diversion happened (look around for direction) during flat trek. Route C will be diverted when you see the Chinese local deities OR small camp/rest area as shown in picture above.
Bukit Kembara is a moderate hill for leisure hiking especially for beginner who seeking for easy-peasy hike. Located in the green lung next to Taman Bukit Indah, this hill is not that popular enough but one should consider it because the difficulty level is rate as LOW.

Never imagine the reward of the hike would be an awesome reservoir view which I don’t think many hill would able to offer this, especially around KL.
An old but active reservoir called Ampang Impounding Reservoir was one of the earliest waterworks constructed in 1892. This location is fondly known to nature lovers as Bukit Indah.
KL Hiking group was the sole organizer for this hike. Again, I followed them to discover my first hike on this hill.
I never get tired of Tabur Hill, but nowadays I really focus on completing more new mountains. My latest attempt on Tabur Hill was last year, on West route which gave an old memory recall since 5 years back. Huh? Am I recalled my first ever hike in my life?
Tabur West (Bukit Tabur)
West route, is the most basic route when people talk about Tabur Hill, a hill with amazing view but dangerous enough if you fear of height. Satisfaction was priceless when you step on every unblocking view of the surrounding.
Yeah, a short of 10 minutes of steep hiking from the entrance can give you a very first introduction of what Bukit Tabur (Tabur Hill) can offer to you.
