An unexpected 17 pax group turn up to hike cooling and mossy mountain located at the Gap, the foot hill of Fraser Hill. All were first timer to this mountain.
29 June 2014 | Gunung GAP & Ulu Semangkok
I was expected a 3 hours hike has turned almost into half which was 2 hours from base to Gap peak and Ulu Semangkok peak. Our group were a fit and steady, leaving no one behind to complete first peak (Gap) less than an hour time. Another hour plus to second peak (Ulu Semangkok).
The supportive elements that moved our group so fast was a dry season and trails were better grip. No one encountered any leech.
A revisit to FGS Dong Zen Temple in year 2014 has brought me many past memories all these years. I consistently visit this place especially during Chinese New Year. It has become a norm to drop by for exciting different theme every year.
Fo Guang Shan (FGS) Dong Zhen Temple
CNY Lantern & Floral Fest 2014
CNY festival would never be bored if you come to visit this temple. You can expect lots of floral decoration with some static animal as display, featured the surrounding very colorful. However, visitors turn-out this year was not big compare to previous years. It could be no strong broadcasting about this place in main stream media.
Return visitors were those frequent from past years or those get influenced in social media photo how nice this place was. Yes, social media like Facebook spread the photo very fast and many of us like to go Facebook to wish people during CNY gathering
The best time to come here would be around 6pm – 8pm. You’ll be able to witness two situation, day light and moon light. Of course, the moon light is referring to the night view with colorful light throughout this place. There were few mascots recycle but I notice most of it are new creation.
Well, FGS Dong Zen remains one of the most visited place during CNY no matter how.
Never underestimate hill & mountain by its name. Bukit Chenuang, a hill by name, as tough as typical mountain. Located in the area around Gunung Nuang and accessible via trail through Congkak Recreational Park.
13 April 2014 | Bukit Chenuang (Congkak Recreational Park)
‘Nuang’ is a name that many hikers terrified when heard about it. However, Bukit Chenuang should not be taken lightly as well. The jungle area is closely related to Gunung Nuang. Due to this, I decided to follow KL Hiking community to Bukit Chenuang when they planned for it. A small fee of RM1 for entrance and RM3 for carpark is compulsory.
The group started hike from Camp Zone 6. The rest of the hike was not easy Trail after the river crossing was tough, with very steep steps which spoil with fallen bamboos/rattan and thorny plant.
It took me total 2 hr 15 min to reach the peak. Descending took me 1 hr 50 min. Therefore, completed this only 4 hours, but for me I felt like 6 hours. Perhaps too long absent from hiking made the situation not favorable to me.
If you’re weekend warrior searching for a popular spot to spend your days under the blissful sun, then Port Dickson is a sure bet for you! Located about an hour drives away from Kuala Lumpur only.
PD Waterfront @ Port Dickson
PD Waterfront as it’s completely new development initiative that boosts PD into tourism spot again. I knew this place when I try to find McD in Port Dickson. The signboard brought and leads me here.
I went to Waterfront Boutique Hotel, the perfect place to take in the sights of sounds of Port Dickson. This hotel was having its promotion for online booking (group buying portal). My weekend package is 2D1N for only RM128.
This place got Kim’s Seafood Palace Restaurant, Matsu Japanese Restaurant and Double Q Restaurant. If you feel like exploring the local dining options, feel free to do so from among the many delicious eateries that are within walking distance.
Enjoy easy access to much convenience including the local McDonald‘s and TF Value Mart grocery store which are just a 3-minute walk away.
Some advertisement claimed that Malaysia’s first mainland-to-island 1 kilometer suspended cable car to Pulau Arang and the water theme park! But I don’t see any during my visit there.

100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo
Why it was named as 100 Doraemon? It was a countdown towards his birthday, which falls on Sept-3, 2112 in future.
One hundred (100) brings much meaning to this expo. You can see 100 different poses, 100 different figures with each holding 100 different secret gadgets! If you have time, read each information available to know the gadget functionality better.
If you know Doraemon, means we’re likely at around same generation. A big fan once a while but not hardcore. Bought many comics to read and movie/series to watch, especially those episodes aired in RTM back in time. Memories huh?
