5 Sept 2010 | East Coast Vacation 2010 (Teluk Chempedak)
This beach is famous for locals during weekends to unwind with family members and loved one. It’s also good place for water sports activities such as swimming, jet-skiing, surfing and sunbath. Kite flying is common sight here.
One can choose to stay overnight here on low budget hotel nearby. Hyatt Regency Hotel is the most popular choice for a holiday. We parked our car at designed car park area with fees of RM1. Side parking is widely available for free, but good luck for hunting on it.
At noon time, the beach was packed with family traveler in group and children. Even some brought over the whole school children for day visit. Well, they didn’t wandering far away from beach, therefore we have a peaceful time on our own time. We explored further than we intended.
We just wanted to have a good walk around the place. My second time coming to Teluk Chempedak after my first encountered was only focus on kite flying in one place, missed out chances to go around. Now I’m coming for this purpose!
Official summary information … from Malaysia Tourism
Beach … a white sandy beach
Stalls along the walkway above the beach … good business in the weekend
Shocked to see this mountain bike park … unfortunately it was CLOSED
Not maintained anymore … some part of platform were broken
A bridge platform has been built to connect Chempedak Beach to another beach. Along the way, there are many huge stones located beautifully. Occasionally, I spotted a few wildlife such as monitor lizard and monkey. So, be-careful of your belonging.
Platform connected to next beach … stroll along the stony beach
Viewing deck … for those who had low stamina to continue, just REST!
A nice view from the Deck … photographer should stop here as well
Reaching the platform END … yet another beach in front
Do you think the stone is SMALL? … let see on next picture
Too small by comparison … giant boulder
Turtles crawl back … season is over
No doubt, this calm and beautiful Chempedak Beach should be a great stop when you cross along Kuantan. Notice the boulders which create a splashing sound as the waves move towards them.
We were taking a late lunch at McD outlet there after completed our simple tour here. We felt the sea breeze blowing while we taking our meal. However, weekend crowd was a real killer of one’s holiday mood. It could turn you into another town alike area.
At least, there is a hotel fronting the beach, an international class hotel of Hyatt Regency Kuantan to counter this crowd.
Off-peak shall fall upon us. Our great vacation comes to end. With open heart, we felt the true joyful in these 4 days.
No any other vacation yet to override my current feeling. Surprisingly, I’d started planning for this. Next year trip will be going greater than this. So, stay tune.
