Sungai Chiling Revisited

0

There are a lot of names associated with this place, Sungai Chiling, Chiling Waterfall, Chilling Sanctuary River and Chiling River. Normally we just called it Sg Chiling or Chiling Waterfall for short. So here we are again, a revisited trip for the second time.

Sungai Chiling (Chiling Waterfall) @ Kuala Kubu Bahru

20 March 2010

I was leading a group of eight (8) peoples, started from KL. Our journey on trekking all the way @ 11.20am considered late. Many reached earlier than us. Upon reached there, I wasn’t so excited, maybe I know the environment there. This waterfall has gone over-marketed through some photo album and blog site, causing a huge crowd at most weekend there. No fun at all.

Some more, the entrance fees has increased RM1 now, a 50% increased! Gosh!…lol. None of my reason going there other than photography.

We have to cross 6 rivers (actually six times river to be exact in ONE river only) before reach the waterfall. We felt chilled up enjoying scenery there.

Bukit Tabur – Sunrise @ East Route

2

Bukit Tabur (Tabur Hill) is one of the most popular hill among hikers. If you have been to Broga Hill or heard about it, you’re pretty much to like this hill as both offer you the striking view of sunrise in good weather. My hiking in Tabur Hill this time indeed a very good experience. I did five attempts in West entrance since year 2006 and this round I managed to hike East route with guidance from an experience leader in our group.

Bukit Tabur (Tabur Hill) – Sunrise @ East Route

14 March 2010

With a splendid 6 hours of hiking (included rest and photography session), it gave me a different view of Tabur Hill since I first knew it. Due to our mission is to watch sunrise at the peak, we planned to start hiking as early as 6.00am. All of us were punctual and VOILA, we started to walk in the dark with help of head torch lamp.

The sky still in dark and we walked in a line with a sweeper behind us. It was done professionally by considering all of us are first timer. Even though, none of us complained about exhaustion, guess everyone there are quite fit for such challenging climb.

The Secret Garden

1

I believe most of us are not aware of such beautiful hidden garden located at strategic hidden popular shopping complex, 1 Utama. The mall management wanted to make something new to patrons, so they created a greenery area at rooftop, apart from a forest in the mall at new wing.

Hidden forest … in the city

FYI, this secret garden only opened during the weekend, allowing guest to walk-in free of charge, located at 6th floor. One can get sun burnt while shopping at 1U. Weird huh? Hehe.

Registration is needed at the entrance even though it’s free. By walking into the park, one can forget in the fact we were at the roof top of the building.
